Habitat : Warm and Cool broad-leaved, Hemlock and Fir forests, On shrubs,1000-3650 m. altitude
Comments / notes : A paste of the stem or root bark is kept pressed against the teeth for about 15 minutes to relieve toothache.
Key identification features : Large woody climbers, coarsely hairy. Leaflets ovate or suborbicular- cordate, 3-5 lobed, pilose. Flowers in axillary or terminal panicles, white, scented. Achenes densely hairy with long silky tails.
