  • Comments / notes : Undergrowth of evergreen and shola forests. Known to extend towards northern Western Ghats (Ravikumar & Udayan, 2004)
  • Key identification features : Large shrubs to small trees with hirsute branchlets. Leaves hirsute, elliptic-oblong, with entire margin. Flowers white, sessile. Fruit is a drupe covered with hairs. The species can be distinguished from others by their strigose hairs throughout.
